Terms of Service for SS Translate

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SS Translate ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

SS Translate is owned and operated by ShiftedFrame ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

SS Translate provides:

• Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from images
• Translation of extracted text into multiple languages
• Augmented reality overlay of translated text on original images

3. Use License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may:

• Use the App to translate text from your personal photos and screenshots
• Access the App on any device you own or control
• Use both free and paid features according to your subscription level

You may NOT:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the App
• Use the App to process copyrighted material without permission
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Attempt to bypass subscription requirements

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

• Limited to 3 image translations
• No account required
• Basic features only

Premium Subscriptions

• Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly plans available
• Unlimited translations
• All features included
• Managed through Apple App Store
• Auto-renewal unless cancelled 24 hours before period ends
• Prices subject to change with notice

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring you have rights to any images you process
• Not using the App to translate illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Maintaining the security of your device and account
• All activity that occurs through your use of the App
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

6. Intellectual Property

Our Rights

• The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ShiftedFrame
• Protected by international copyright, trademark, and other laws
• Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without written permission

Your Rights

• You retain all rights to your original images
• Translations are provided for your personal use
• You grant us no rights to your content

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services for core functionality:

• Google Cloud Services (OCR and Translation)
• Microsoft Translator
• Apple StoreKit

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the past 12 months
• We are not responsible for translation errors or misunderstandings arising from use of the App

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShiftedFrame from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you process through the App

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for:

• Breach of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of the service
• Non-payment (for premium users)

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• No refunds will be provided for unused subscription time

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of The Netherlands.
