Information We Access
Photos and Images
- We access photos and screenshots you select for translation
- Images are processed temporarily for OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and translation
- We do NOT store, save, or retain your photos on our servers
- Images are only held in memory during the translation process and immediately discarded
Device Information
- Device identifier (for authentication and free tier management)
- App usage statistics (crashes, performance metrics via standard iOS analytics)
- No personally identifiable information is collected
How We Use Information
We access your photos solely to:
- Perform OCR to extract text from images
- Translate the extracted text to your chosen language
- Display the translated text overlaid on your image
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide translation functionality:
- Google Cloud Vision API - For text recognition (OCR)
- Google Translate API - For text translation
- Microsoft Translator API - For text translation
- Apple StoreKit - For subscription management
These services process your images temporarily and are bound by their own privacy policies:
Data Storage and Security
- We do NOT store your photos or personal data
- Translation cache is stored locally on your device only
- JWT tokens for authentication are stored securely on your device
- All API communications use encrypted HTTPS connections
- Images are processed in memory and immediately discarded
Subscription Information
If you purchase a subscription:
- Apple handles all payment processing
- We receive only a receipt token to verify your subscription status
- No payment information is shared with or stored by us
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Deny photo access (the app will not function without this permission)
- Delete the app and all local cache data at any time
- Cancel your subscription through Apple's App Store
- Contact us with any privacy concerns
Children's Privacy
SS Translate is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.
