I love a tastefully modded STi or two. Oakes Detailing put their magic touch on a few Subarus this weekend, so I met up with them on Sunday to take a couple shots.

Winter Mode
Who doesn’t love snow and winter?
Well right now probably a lot of people, but here is a prime example of a clean winter warrior.
It’s a clean 07 UGM STI on green wheels wrapped in blizzaks.
With all the basic bolt on goodies that make STIs so awesome.
-Opensource protune
-Turboback exhaust running out through one of the best sounding mufflers for these cars, the all too elusive JDM Genome axle back.
-SPT intake with heatshield
-Defi Boost and EGT gauges with controller
-V-limited lip
-Spoilerless boot lid
-lots of stickers
This is the type of car you can really enjoy winter weather in.

2010 Philadelphia Auto Show
My overall experience at this year’s Philadelphia Auto Show was interesting to say the least. The train ride in is always nice because you don’t have to worry about parking or even going outside. However I have to say I was a little disappointed in the selection. The Fox Marketing Lexus ISC, and the new Audi R8 v10 spyder were pretty cool as well as the Stingray concept. The FC Kerbeck Exotics section upstairs is always enjoyable as well. But to my surprise the cars were filthy, either no one got to cleaning them yet or they just didn’t care. The cars downstairs in the Tuner section however were spotless down to the frame. Partly responsible for that was Nick Oakes and his detailing. Besides the incredibly spotless rides downstairs you might also catch a seizure from all the flashing lights or all the monster energy drinks available. Either way you are in for a good time. Especially if you are in the market for a new car or just want to check out the new gadgets and technology in every one of the cars on display. My advice: go early and on a weekday to avoid the long lines and big crowds.

Subaru gives back
My friend over at Mishimoto was kind enough to let me post some of his pictures from the Subaru 48 hours of tristate rally. For this event Subaru was raising money for the American Cancer Society, and those who participated in the rally got a special peek at the facility where Subaru builds all of their race cars. This year they were able to raise nearly $35,000. It’s great to see that people are still giving to the greater good, even in a down economy.

My good friend Dave rebuilt this WRX after his friend rolled it. It is now a super clean, daily driven bugeye with a handful of JDM and STi goodies. The mods are subtle but functional, just the way we like it. OnlySubarus also uses it as their poster car. Before and after pictures below:
