Day in the Dirt
I got invited to a Dirt Track event. Normally, I am not into these kinds of things, and I usually skip over them when it is on the speed channel. But after this experience I will probably take the time to watch and learn. We were at the Bridgeport Speedway, Bridgeport, NJ.
This 924 car fully sponsored by Thornton’s Gulf is driven by this man….
Steve Durand, a 5 time champion of the sportsman class. He is a very well known driver at the speedway and recently got back into the saddle after a bad wreck.
The 924 is powered by a 467 CID, 900hp V8 that is mated to a two speed transmission. First gear takes you up to 15 mph, and then second takes you up to 120mph+. Keep in mind that this thing only weighs around 2500lbs.
Thornton’s gulf has been involved in racing for about 10 years now.

911 in the desert…
I rolled out to Arizona this week and met up with my friend Ed to shoot his 997 Turbo. I’ve been dying to shoot a car in the desert at sunset, and since it’s monsoon season the clouds made some awesome background content.
